Organisation of Workshops


This activity includes the organisation of three Workshops. Kathmandu University organized the first Workshop titled "Education and Research practices at each University" in November 2005 along the kick-off meeting.The Workshop included four sessions: 1) Research activities in the field of lighting and energy technology, 2) Education and teaching methods at Master and PhD level, 3) Project Broschure
and 4) Working and life in Nepal.

The second Workshop was held in Helsinki on 23 May 2006. Helsinki University of Technology organised the workshop on 'Industrial relations and research activities' . Project partners from all three universities were present in the workshop. Presentation were given about the lighting and energy related industry in each country. Postgraduate students of each University presented their research work. A presentation on 'How to establish enterprises' took attention of all the participants. Excursion to companies IIDMAN and HELVAR was organised on the next day.

The third Workshop was organised in in Lithuania on 25 October 2007. Vilnius University organised the Workshop on "Material science technology". Lectures were given on the material issues of LEDs. Experimental techniques for semiconductor characterisation in different laboratories of Vilnius University were introduced. Visits to green house facility with LED based lighting installed by start up company, Laser Centre at Vilnius University, and a spin off company "light conversion" were organized.
