Academic staff and student exchange


This involves the exchange of professors, postgraduate student and researchers.

Professor exchange have two stages. First stage visits are short-term visits (up to 2 weeks) arranged to analyze the needs for foreign lecturing, to harmonize teaching curricula, and to define balance between traditional and e-learning. Longer visits (up to 2 months) for lecturing ,research activities and also in student supervision are planned on the basis of this analysis. The lecturing is combined with e-learning.

Exchange of Nepalese, Finnish, and Lithuanian postgraduate students and researchers will offer them possibilities to study and prepare part of their thesis work aboard. This will provide them oppertunities to exchange scientific knowledge and to utilize the expertise of the professors of different universities.

Exchange activities

  • Research scientist Paulo Pinho from HUT Lighting Lab worked in Vilnius University on researcher exchange programme from 29 March till 13th April, 2006.
  • Research scientist Pramod Bhusal from HUT Lighting Lab visited Rural Nepali villages in august 2006 for the measurement of the Solar powered LED lamps installed in the villages.
