in Finland. HUT Lighting Laboratory provides higher
basic and postgraduate education in Illuminating
iengineering. The research areas include: Light
isources and energy, Traffic lighting and vision,
IIndoor lighting, Measuring and testing, and electrical
building services

Vilnius University (VU)
Institute of Materials Science and Applied Research

Vilnius University is established in 1579 and is still
the leading research university in Lithuania. The main
research field at the Institute of Material Science
and Applied Research is semiconductor optoelectronics
involving characterization of materials and structures
for visible and UV LEDs and OLEDs, as well as various
applications of solid-state sources of light (general

Kathmandu University (KU)
Department of Electrical and Electronics
Engineering
Kathmandu University was established by the act of
parliament in November 1991. It is an autonomous,
non-profit,non-government,public institution
dedicated to maintain high standards of academic
excellence. Its mission is to provide quality
education for leadership. The department of electrical
and Electronics Engineering was established in 1994.
Research at the department is still in the initial
stage of development and is focused on domestically
applicable technologies of international importance.
