AC meeting and closing seminar was
organized in Helsinki on 8-9 May,
2008. Presentations were given on
the topics related to LED lighting
and renewable energy sources. Future
and challenges of LED lighting in
developing countries was discussed
in the seminar. Prospects of the development
of LED based industry in Nepal was
also discussed. Excurtion to Finnish
companies NAPS
Systems, and
Cariitti Oy was organized, where
the company representatives gave information
about their company. |

Vilnius
University organized the Workshop titled
"Material science technology"
in Lithuania on 25 October 2007. Lectures
were given on the material issues of
LEDs. Experimental techniques for semiconductor
characterisation in different laboratories
of Vilnius University were introduced.
Visits to green house facility with
LED based lighting installed by start
up company, Laser Centre at Vilnius
University, and a spin off company "light
conversion" were organized. |

The first
joint
lecture and training session was
organized at Kathmandu, Nepal on 26-27
February 2007 (programme).
Professors and PhD student of Vilnius
University gave presentation on LED
science and technology. The aim of lecture
session was to provide participants
with knowledge on physics of LED, materials,
technology and applications. Nepali
lighting industry and organizations
working in lighting and energy field
were widely represented in the lecture
session
(certificate). |

was organised in Vilnius, Lithuania
on 24 October 2006. Presentations were
given in the topics related to LEDs
for General lighting and Horticulture
applications. Before the seminar, excurtion
to
Lithuanian Horticulture Institute
in Babtai was organised to inspect the
LED-based facilities for plant cultivation. |

scientist Pramod Bhusal from HUT
Lighting Lab visited Rural Nepali villages
in august 2006 for the measurement of
the Solar powered LED lamps installed
in the villages. |

A Workshop
on 'Industrial relations and research
activities' was organsed in Helsinki
on 23 May 2006. Project partners from
all three universities were present
in the workshop. Presentation were given
about the lighting and energy related
industry in each country. Postgraduate
students of each University presented
their research work. A presentation
on 'How to establish enterprises' took
attention of all the participants. Excursion
to companies IDMAN
and
HELVAR was organised on the next
day. |
