Project Objectives
The research examines the integration of daylight and electric light within the Helsinki Museum of Contemporary Art. The main target of this project is not only to test the lighting system of the museum (the usability of daylight at various seasons and under different daylight conditions) but also to study and demonstrate the energy efficient integration of daylighting and artificial lighting in high-standard buildings in general. The final results will be used as a design guide for future and as a source of information for commercial product development to widen present knowledge about daylighting and lighting control systems.
